What is your return policy?

Buttercloth accepts returns or exchanges within 30 days, of unworn, unused, (try on is OK), unwashed, undamaged, or defective merchandise.* Returns / Exchanges must include all packaging components and the original hang tag attached to the garment. 

Van Gogh limited edition styles are eligible for exchange only.

What is not eligible for return or exchange?

  • Items worn, used, washed, or damaged.
  • Items with the hang tag cut or removed.
  • Items marked “Final Sale”
  • Underwear / Socks
  • Gift Boxes

Shipping and Shipping Insurance charges are non-refundable.


Do you offer free shipping on returns/exchanges on US orders?

Do you offer even exchanges?

Yes! We offer even exchanges for the same styles in a different size. If exchanging for a different style, there may be a price difference incurred.


What if the item(s) are damaged or defective?

If your Buttercloth items arrive damaged or defective, email us at [email protected] and we’ll make it right.


I used a promo code on my original order. Can I apply the same promo code to my exchange order?

Promo codes are one-time use. You may use any current active promo code at the time of your exchange order. We offer even exchange for the same style in a different size. When will my exchange order ship?

Once your return shipment is in possession of USPS and the label is scanned, your exchange order will ship within 24-48 hours.


When will my return be processed?

Once your return shipment is in possession of USPS, the package will arrive at our facility in 2-3 weeks. Within 48 hours of receipt, your return will be processed and a refund issued to the original form of payment or store credit (as applicable).


When will the refund show on my original form of payment?

The refund will show on your statement within 5-10 business days of return processing.
